Spirituality

How can I find out more about spirituality and explore my beliefs?

Spirituality can be very important to many people as they struggle to find hope and meaning in their lives. It can help people make sense of themselves and their lives and help them to connect with like-minded people. It can mean many things. It could mean being Catholic or Baptist and going to church, it could mean Buddhism, it could mean Judaism and going to synagogue, it could mean Native persons going to a sweat lodge and speaking with elders, it could mean your own unique beliefs that you keep completely private.

If this is a part of your life you want to explore further, you could:

  • Do some research about religions and spirituality - check out Wikipedia for more information.
  • Meet with a spiritual leader (e.g., elder, Rabbi, priest, monk) to talk about your beliefs
  • Get a book from the library about your beliefs
  • Talk about it with a youth counsellor
